Types of Network Topology

 Understanding Computer Networks
The computer network is a system that involves a series of two or more computing devices and devices - other devices made or designed to be able to work together in order to communicate, access information, ask and provide a service or services between computers with each other.

1. Bus Topology

Arguably bus topology topology fairly modest compared to other topologies. This topology is typically used in the installation of fiber optic-based network, then combined with a star topology to connect a client or node.Bus topology only use a coaxial type cable along the client node and in general, the end of the coaxial cable is usually given as a T connector cables end to end.Excess Bus Topology:1 Installation costs that could be considered very low because it only uses less cable.2 Addition of client / workstation can only be done with ease.

3 topology is very simple and easy to applyDisadvantages Bus Topology:

1 If one of the wires on the bus network topology is broken or problematic, it can interfere with a computer workstation / client to another.2 The process of sending (sending) and receiving (receive) the data are less efficient, usually frequent collisions on this topology.3 topology is very old school and difficult to develop.

2. Star Topology

Or the star topology is one form of network topologies typically use a switch / hub to connect the client with another client.
Excess Star Topology1Apabila one computer having problems, the network topology is running and does not affect other computers.2 Characteristically flexible

3 The level of security can be fairly better than a bus topology.

4 Ease of detection of problems is quite easy if there is damage to tissue.
Disadvantages Star Topology

1 If the switch / hub that notabenya as the central point of having problems, then all computers connected in this topology are also having problems.

2 Simply requires a lot of cable, so the cost can be fairly expensive.

3 network is highly dependent on the central terminal.
3. Topology Ring

Ring or ring topology is a network topology that connects one computer to another computer in a series of circular, similar to a ring. This topology is usually only use the LAN card for connecting a computer with other computers.
Ring Topology advantages:

1 It has better performance than a bus topology.

2 Easy to implement.

3 Reconfigure and installation of the new device can be fairly easy.

4 The installation cost is quite cheap

Ring Topology Disadvantages:

1 performance in the communication topology is assessed on the amount / number of points or nodes.

2Troubleshooting can be fairly complicated.

3Jika one broken connection, then the other connections also dropped out.

This topology 4Pada usually bigger collision (collision data).

4. Mesh Topology

Mesh topology is a topological form that is suitable in terms of route selection that much. It acts as a backup when the other lines are having problems.
Excess Mesh Topology:

1 Track delivery of data that is used very much, so do not worry there will be a data collision (collision).

2 Large bandwidth wide enough.3 Security in the topology is arguably very good.

Mesh Topology Disadvantages:
1 The installation process on the topology of the network is very complicated.

2 Requires a lot of wires.

3Memakan installation costs are very expensive, because need a lot of cables.
